Daughters Of Sarah Magazine Information in Questions
Anyone notice conservative hypocrisies over Sarah Palin? Usually, they label parents of teenagers who get pregnant as irresponsible. But, when it is Sarah Palin's teenage daughter who gets pregnant, Sarah Palin gets to be labelled as courageous. Remember the outrage over the parents of the teens in the "pregnancy pact" in Massachusetts? They condemned magazines for celebrating Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancy a few months ago, now they are celebrating Bristol Palin's pregnancy. Also, the statement by Palin emphasized that it had been "Bristols choice" to raise the baby and get married to the dude. Im glad that Sarah Palin celebrated her daughters "choice" but I am sad that she wants to refuse any sense of "choice" to any other teenage girl or women regarding their own bodies. And let me say that I don't think that teenage pregnancy should be encouraged, I just think that conservatives aren't painting with the same brush in this situation. Any thoughts? I'm sure I will be attacked and ridiculed by those who don't have any rational response. That's nice chuck... but I don't see where I said that i was liberal..... oh wait thats because im not. but im glad you have a hobby

Chuck G replied: "Not really, I'm too busy counting the liberal hypocrisies."

wmayers99 replied: "What did you expect from Repugnicans? They all go through life a couple sandwiches short of a picnic."

jen replied: "Of course. They're blatantly obvious. Check out the Daily Show's clip about "the gender card." It's hilarious. "

Andy S replied: "I've never seen the double standard you're speaking about. Teenage pregnancy happens to both dem and republican families. Nobody has "control" over a seventeen year old. When I was a teenager, my younger sister became pregnant- nobody faulted my parents for my sister's indiscretions, and why should they? Further, I don't see anyone "celebrating" Bristol's pregnancy. Her own mother sees it as the premature ending of her daughter's childhood."

HotLulu853@hotmail.com replied: "Don't think ya really wanna bring the subject of hypocrisy up, do ya, Bink?"

LTD replied: "I don't think anyone is calling Bristol Palin "courageous", and no one that I know of is "celebrating" her pregnancy...however, it is a scary thing for a teen to become pregnant, and for her to make the decision to keep this child is, while not "heroic" is laudable. I agree that teens having babies is a dangerous and all to often problem...and being the step-mom of a 13 year old female, I can tell you that you CANNOT always be with them to be sure they make good decisions, and no matter how good of a job that you think your doing as a parent, things like this will happen. Sad but true. However, for her to make the decision to have and keep this baby, is a life-changing event NO "child" should have to make..I think the series "The Baby Borrowers" will do as much, if not more, good than any parental discussion will ever do... All that said, Sarah Palin's children should be OFF LIMITS to the public anyway...these kids did not ask to be in the spotlight..and I would applaud any action on Mrs. Palin's part to keep them and their problems, to themselves."

blindroden replied: "The major difference between Jamie Lynn Spears mother and Bristol Palin's mother is that Jamie's mother is a complete gold digging beauty queen moron that doesn't have the first clue on how to be a good mother. I think that is where they were hitting so hard Jamie Lynn and her mother because mom wanted to make as much money parading her daughter around and milking it for all it is worth. Now that Jamie Lynn has had her baby, where is mom -- in Cali with Brittany so she can make more money when Brittany's head is out of her ass. Sarah Palin at least is standing by her Bristol, keeping it a PRIVATE family affair, not trying to milk it for all it's worth."

Why is Sarah Palin's daughter newsworthy? "The daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has given birth..." That's from an AP article based on info from People magazine. Great Journalism.

iluvblue23 replied: "exactly what i was thinking!!! she goes and gets herself pregnant at 17 and she is the news all day today.. what a positive role model she is! and sarah palin's a nobody now.. why are we even bothere about her daughter?"

Cynthia B replied: "She is not news worthy, neither is her mother"

slaterc18 replied: "That is great journalism. That's not big news, but it's still news. She was pregnant during Palin's VP run and now she's given birth. It gives that story some finality. Two days from now, this won't be news anymore. Just deal with it for right now."

pjkondorpoduszlo replied: "Did you forget the media was hounding THEM? For MONTHS, all they did was for Sarah to accept John McCain's offer to be his Vice Presidential running mate and the whole bloody family gets harassed for months; they want to know Todd's political history, they want to know where they got their wardrobe from, they questioned Sarah's ability as a mother (something no one has ever done to any male candidate for the past 232 years since we became a nation), they mocked Bristol for getting pregnant in the first place, the loons even questioned weather Sarah was even the mother of the downed syndrome child. They trashed Bristol Palin and dragged her name through the mud. So since they unjustly harassed and hounded the whole Palin family all that time; I'm sure they simply figured loons in the media would be very interested to know that a healthy baby was delivered. Perhaps you forgot all this."

simmran1 replied: "Ms. blue, she didn't get herself pregnant. The hockey player had something to do with it. But why did they name the baby after the Ms. Johnstons' drug habit? I think news is slack right now until Jan. 20th"

Bumpa replied: "She's pretty and Sarah Palin's daughter. News enough."

KD replied: "Because her mother was a vice presidential candidate. It is unfortunate for her daughter to be cast in the news like that without a choice. It is at least a little more news worthy than the birth of Jamie Lynn Spears daughter or the latest celebrity breakdown and rehab admission."

Writer_B replied: "Well, Sarah Palin is a famous person, for one thing. The announcement that her unmarried daughter was pregnant was made public just days after she was nominated for the vice presidency. Please note that I'm not saying anything pro or con about her, but those are basic facts. Don't you think people would be interested to know that she's given birth, and that Palin is now a grandmother? Granted, plenty of babies are born every day, but most of them are not to children of governors, or children of vice presidential candidates. So yes, I'd have to say it was somewhat newsworthy. It wasn't worth Page One of any newspaper, but no newspaper I know of put it there. It was worth a mention, and that's basically what it got."

What do you think about Palin on the cover of US Magazine ? This magazine is owned by the New York Times. Is Us Weekly showing its bias? This week's issue of the celebrity magazine features a photo of John McCain's vice presidential running mate holding baby Trig with the screaming headline: "John McCain's Vice President Sarah Palin: Babies, Lies & Scandal." The magazine, founded by New York Times Company and owned by Obama campaign contributor Jann Wenner, rips Palin with cover teasers that publicize her teen daughter's pregnancy, an alleged firing of Palin's sister's ex-husband and promises "new embarrassing surprises." The website URL for the Palin story reads, "sarah-palin-very-difficult-to-work-with." The September feature states: Mom-of-five Palin is antiabortion (even in cases of rape) and opposed to sex-education classes (she believes in abstinence instruction for teens). In the wake of the announcement about Bristol, questions have begun to arise about the governor's candor and McCain's judgment (The New York Times reported that McCain's camp vetted Palin only the day before her selection was announced. "It's conceivable a 17-year-old girl just screwed the GOP," Democratic strategist George Lakoff tells Us Weekly. A June issue of the same celebrity magazine featured Barack and Michelle Obama embracing on the cover with the headline, "Michelle Obama: Why Barack Loves Her." The teaser reads, "She shops at Target, loved 'Sex in the City' and never misses the girls' recitals. The untold romance between a down-to-earth mom and the man who calls her 'my rock.'" The website URL states, "exclusive-barack-obama-michelle-is-an-extraordinary-mother." The Obama issue focused on Michelle Obama's "strong sense of family" and genuine personality. PLEASE SEE HOW THEY PORTRAY OBAMA AND MICHELLE AT THE BOTTOM LINK!

Reaganator replied: "Just another example of how slanted the media is. McCain for President"

mmkay.. replied: "She contradicts herself She was part of the Alaskan Independance party and shes under investigation for corruption.. (but shes a soccer mom so that should count for everything)"

Democrats R Snobs replied: "US Weekly is read by losers with no lives who live vicariously through celebrities who couldn't care less that these people are even alive"

Doug P replied: "umm did you know the other side of the cover had barack obamas family on it...so no there isnt a bias..."

Get 'Em replied: "Who's the celebrity now?"

A.R. replied: "Doesn't she seem like a tabloid personality?"

Bill P replied: "I dont know, dont care. I am just waiting for her daughter to be on the cover of Hustler. That white trailer trash family. When you have a daughter the same age as your granddaughter...youre trailer trash. "What is it exactly the Vice President does" -Palin (cnbc)"

TruthSeeker replied: "Another example of the blatant media bias and distorting the facts to sensationalize with no regard to the children involved. Unacceptable in my book and I won't be purchasing any more of their magazines."

Evita replied: "I wouldn't pay half a cent to read that trash."

Beverly S replied: "She is a beautiful lady and mother. She will be a wonderful V.P. I will never buy this magazine again."

Friend b replied: "I think is sad, I really am starting to believe, we should just get rid of Freedom of the Press, and put most of the media in jail, before someone starts shooting them."

R M replied: "Apparently Jan Wenner has zero respect for her candidate Obama."

xoxo replied: "I just don't get it. I consider myself a Republican, and I don't understand why McCain would pick someone who already has controversy attached to them. If he wanted a woman, there are several others out there that are just as qualified as Palin."

? replied: "Typical kool aid drinkers. Most people can see through this."

Colts replied: "The news sucks and Palin is hot. I'm voting for her."

blatantlyconservative replied: "HaHaHaHa...It would seem that US Weekly has become more like The National Inquirer, while the National Inquirer is doing US Weekly's job."

alabamagirl replied: "I don't know and don't care. And who reads Us magazine!?! Vote obama-biden ticket on nov. 4!"

fdm215 replied: "So far Palin has been a bit of a soap opera. I'm not that surprised by the cover. They are trying to sell magazines. Hello?"

jlz replied: "Does it really surprise anyone. Obama is God and Palin is White Trash. That is what the libtards want you to think."

? replied: "I will say this.............usually when they pose for pictures, they agree to have a certain look. These magazines cannot steal pics of them so whatever you see there is how they wanted to look. So yea your argument is kind of unwarranted."

mrjonessr41 replied: "Looks like they are doing an excelent job!"

Jupiter replied: "It seems they are treating them like any other celeb. Sometimes there are nice articles about celebs and sometimes bad. Palin is such an easy target right now. America met her only a week ago and look at all the drama she brought to the campaign. Her 17 year old daughter being pregnant doesn't make her a bad candidate but come on. She turned McCain's campaign into a soap opera. What do you expect US weekly is going to do? They are a publication that is in the business of selling magazines even if it means destroying someones image. The fact that the New York Times is even affiliated with US weekly is appalling."

chayse replied: "You have perfectly illustrated another example of glaring media bias. Good job on that. I get so sick and tired of having to fish through people's opinions to get to the facts. What I wouldn't give to see some accountability in media reporting. Report the facts or become a pundit. Period."

rotorhead replied: "Either Obama or Hillary has been on almost every cover of Time and Newsweek since Feb. They are always shwon in strong striking poses looking very confident and imposing. If McCain is on the cover, it accents his height and wrinkles. Dems don't care about Obama's lack of experience. They don't care about his teen mother getting suckered by some Ethiopian Muslim, knocked up and abandoned, they don't want to hear about the Rev Wright or Mr. Ayers. They don't want to hear about Obama's heavy drug use in school. they don't want to hear about how he bought his house. They don't care about John Edwards "Love Child". All they want to talk about is one out of hundreds of thousands of teen girls who get pregnant each year in this country. They DON"T want to talk about how 1 out of every 4 White teen girls will contract an STD and how 2 out of every 4 Black girls will get an STD. They don't want to talk about the epidemic of 13, 14, 15, 16 year old Black girls who are getting pregnant. Girls who don't know who the father of their baby is, and many who don't know who their own father is. Girls who are AFRAID to go to their mothers and tell them they are pregnant, or have an STD. The amount of Black babies being born to unwed teens is greater than those being born to married mothers. THAT IS A REAL ISSUE. I sure as hell don't see Democrats worried about that. All they see is s whole new generation of welfare dependent voters."

Peter N replied: "I'd love to see her in Maxim!!! Yeah BABY!!!!"

Did Sarah Palin have a baby at 44, with Down's Syndrome? Please excuse my ignorance. I do not watch the news, do not read the news paper. The other day I saw a magazine cover (while standing in line at the grocery store) and I saw a picture of Sarah Palin holding a Mongoloid baby. Is it hers? I actually thought that she was older like 50. I also thought the baby was her daughters! I am so confused!!! Brenda P~ Thanks for the insult. Why would anyone bring a child into the world that they KNOW will have a hard life.....Now that is selfish!!!

Jessica A replied: "yes she did"

Cherishalatina replied: "Yup yup..... thats the news around the camp fire!!!"

Einstein The Liberal replied: "That's not the problem it's her stance with abortion."

Leigh replied: "yes she did."

mech eng replied: "The baby is hers, she had it 4 months ago or so."

vw2kbug replied: "No its Bristols'. hahahaha wh*re EDIT: I don't know if its self-fish per say but its a personal choice. I've worked with people who are disabled and for me I'd taken the test and decide what is best for me. I don't need people dictating my life!"

Zoz replied: "Yes, you are correct. Here is the article, well before she was considered for VP. "

Joseph C replied: "Yes, although it's a nice looking baby, not as you say."

alicia replied: "yes it's hers but her 17 year old daughter is pregnant as well one big happy family !!!"

Mia replied: "Yeah."

#1 Stunner replied: "The baby is allegedly hers. She got pregnant in her 40's and since she is pro- life, she kept it. Her daughter is also pregnant at 17 and she is keeping the baby also and marrying the father."

Chantal replied: "Yes, she is 44 years old now and she knew, before the baby would be born that it was going to have Downs Syndrome. When a woman is over a certain age the doctor requires you to have a test where they take fluid from the womb - it is called amniocentesis to test the possibility of having a baby with Downs Syndrome. She had this test and decided, since she is pro-life, to bring the baby to term."

April M replied: "I don't know how old she was, but the pregnancy was unplanned, and yes, the baby does have some disabilities. I congratulate her and her family for not trying to "hide" the baby, and for not being ashamed to have a baby with disabilities. It's easy to get confused, because her daughter just recently found out that she is pregnant, and the reason that it's such a controversy, is because her daughter is young and unmarried, and any negative light that can be shed on the Palin family is beneficial to Obama. Sometimes I really hate politics..."

Brenda P replied: ""Mongoloid" is an offensive name for a genetic syndrome now called Down's. It refers to a supposed resemblance to a certain Asian race. I haven't heard that term since the 60's. I was shocked to see it used here. Chantal, the doctor does not "require" you to have an AFP test, it is offered. I declined it when i was pregnant at 38 because I would not have killed my child no matter what health or developmental issues he may have had. Thank God docs in the US cannot "require" any test or procedure!"

Lamont replied: "Yes, Sarah Palin has 5 children. Track Bristol - pregnant and 17 Willow Piper and Trig (who was born with Down's Syndrome) This is what I do not understand - she is pro-life (to the extreme) and yet, she didn't tell anyone she was pregnant until 7 mos along with Trig. She had Amniocentisis done (which carries risk of miscarriage) and found out he had Downs. Why if you were pro-life would you risk the safety of your unborn baby and why, if you weren't ashamed, wouldn't you tell everyone you were pregnant? She didn't even tell her kids or her parents! Just a note to whomever said it's mandatory - NO TEST IS MANDATORY, you always have the right to waive any test you want. It may have been recommended, because of her age, but she wasn't forced to risk her pregnancy."

Batik replied: "Yes Sarah Palin has a baby with downs syndrome. Her daughter is a teenager expecting a baby. Her daughter is 17 and reportedly she and the father will marry. (He is 19)"

phxmilitarymom replied: "Sarah Palin did have a baby four months ago that was born with Down's Syndrome. Downs Syndrome is more common than most people realize, about one out of every 750 children are born with this. It is more common when the parents are older. The reason the Palins came clean about their daughter, Bristol's, pregnancy is because everyone was speculating that Trig, the baby with Downs Syndrome, was Bristols son. He is not. Bristol Palin is six months pregnant now, she is 17, unmarried and in high school. Teen pregnancies are looked down on in todays times but up until the 70's were very favorable. Women used to marry and have children when they were 16 and 17 all the time but now that is just not done in todays society. Our Republican VP choice, Sarah Palin, has five children, aging from her oldest son, Track, who is a Private in the Army being deployed to Iraq, who is 19, Bristol, 17, Willow, 14, daughter Piper, 7 and the now famous son, Trig, five months. Sarah Palin is a Govenor in Alaska at this time. She really has her hands full and has a terrific husband who helps her out with all of it. Hope that answers any questions you may have and if you want to read a little bit about them but don't want to join in all of the news shows there is a great story about them in the September issue of People magazine. I think she has got to be a super woman to juggle being a mom to five children, have a son who is in Iraq, a wife, Govenor and now VP choice with a campaign trail to run. She certainly has strength and endurance!"

Janet replied: "Yes, Sarah Palin did have a baby 5 months ago with Down's Syndrome. No, she is 44 years old. She also has a 17y/o daughter who is now 5 months pregnant."

scrooge replied: "no, she had a affair with a eskimo."

MeHoo replied: "People with Down syndrome do not have hard lives. My daughter goes to a regular school with other kids and is having a great life. People with Down syndrome go to college these days (yes) and have jobs, and their own apartments, and get married. And lots of people without Down syndrome have even harder lives. You used a term for Down syndrome that was abandoned about 30 years ago, it's clear that you are way way behind on your knowledge of the subject of the lives of people with Down syndrome. Now you know better."

Does Sarah Palin have an OUNCE of class? Now shes leaving phone messages at People Magazine saying Her daughter and husband to be "are working their butts off and are not high school dropouts" Does this woman have a brain in her head? Why not an op ed piece in the NYT? Why so crude? Apparently, shes taking on several newspapers. This isn't the kind of tone, language or strategy that anyone trying to run for PRESIDENT typically uses. Is it simply that...I hate to say it...is the Republican Party becoming the clear choice of the lower class American? The uneducated? The crass? I mean...you have Palin, Joe the Plumber as 'bigger guns' than John McCain himself....and needed those characters to 'fire up the base' Do these continuing signs make you really wonder about the folks? Image 707.... the HEMLINE School of Law? all 40 students? Seriously, what is that? A correspondence school for unwed mothers wanting to be legal secretaries? Now...kets talk about the absurdity of the facts from Ms. 707..as explained by 'The Nutty Professor' RU efffing HIGH?

Chuck G replied: "Why is it crude to defend your family against lies printed in a grocery store tabloid? Are you naive enough to believe that readers of People Magazine also read the NYT editorial page? I don't wonder about Sarah Palin but I sure as hell wonder about people like you."

image7070 replied: "lower class? Uneducated? Crass? Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2008 Presidential election: - Number of States won by: Democrats: 20; Republicans: 30 - Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000; Republicans: 2,427,000 - Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million; Republicans: 143 million - Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2; Republicans: 2.1 Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in rented or government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare..." Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase."

MIND WIDE OPEN replied: "No she doesn't"

claudiacake replied: "Does she have an ounce of class? More in her little finger than you have in your whole dirt-slinging body. These continuing attacks makes me wonder about the people who post them."

Lawenforcer replied: "Wow is there an election in 09, or are you just wanting to finding something to complain about???? I never heard her say she was running for that Office....I would suggest you get a life and an education and worry about your life."

truthistrue8 replied: "She has more class than you. She lost Ok? Now go find someone else to pick to pieces. Try Obama he has LESS government experience than Palin does. Why are you Obama nuts so cruel even after you have already won? THATS low class!"

thor_torkinson replied: "The lower class American? I believe you are violating your party's main principle here. Turn in your blue uniform."

Nakita N replied: "http://yourinfo.h-o-s-t.name A very informative website, you can also get much information in website."

skonch01 replied: "She doing what normal folks with a gripe would do. Call up and complain when one of your kids is wronged. Write an Op Ed to the NYT?? lol.. gee, regular folks sure identify with that one. I know.. she's just not acting the way she should be acting in the east coast media, sound-bite world. That will be her strength moving forward. Libs: Get to know America!"

Jerry O replied: "If you had a problem in school, did your parent(s) confront the teacher or administration, or did they write a letter to the editor. I like someone who gets to the root of the problem; might be good for a Country."

Maddie H replied: "The bugs on my dogs CRAP have more class in ones of their legs than she has in her entire body"

J replied: "Sure i think she's got class, and probably pretty decent etiquette... also, what ever brushin up she needs, theyll make sure she gets it should she run for pres. but i hear what ur sayin.. the things she says problyi snt a good look for the first female pres... she needs to polish her speech just a little... learn the "when & where" principle... like Hilary. LoL Matter o fact, if i could combine Sarah's look with Hilary's know how, we might have a winner!"

Elway_the_Cat replied: "She really doesn't. Her fans can whine about how great she really is until they turn blue in the face. The woman became a national joke and continues to put herself out there in a way that ensures she will remain a national joke. Re Image - "absurdity of the "facts" is a good way to put it. Some folks cling to the smallest bit of wreckage rather than come ashore. Shrug."

semper_paratus_1776 replied: "Obsession with Sarah Palin by libs is an amazing phenomenon surpassed only by the libs obsession with The Man, Barack Obama as evidenced by the Hawaii front page story, December 25,written by Washington Post reporter Eli Saslow: "..The sun glinted off his chiseled pectorals sculpted during four weightlifting sessions each week, and a body toned by regular treadmill runs and basketball games.""

PianoFan replied: "I'm an older Independent and during the primary's thought it was rather disheartening how the Palin's and McCain's put all five of the Palin children out into the limelight, almost a circus event really. It's been reported that the young new parents have been offered $300,000 for the first baby photo's, and Gov. Palin continues to draw attention to herself via her children. I felt very badly for those kids during the primaries but they've made their bed now so to speak, so whatever it takes to keep the attention seems to be more of what's going on. It will all calm down soon enough and people will lose their interest and fascination. All of this reminds me of an artists, 'one hit wonder' on many levels...."

LuLu replied: "Sarah Palin oozes class. America loves her. Do you know that more Sarah Palin memorabilia was sold this Christmas, then any other political figure, ever. Books, calenders, etc. are still on back order at Amazon.com. She must be doing something right. You go girl."

crafty replied: "Note to Image707: Not sure who is still quoting this "Professor", but you need to know that it is false: Teen pregnancy in the Red States: Here is a link to actual demographics from the 2008 election: Sarah Palin is an embarrassment to anyone who has a functional brain and the fact that she would even be considered as a viable Presidential candidate is an absolute joke. I find it interesting that Republicans think they founded this country. Of the Ten states that represent the Ten stripes on the flag all Ten voted for Obama. Nine out of the ten states that get the most federal funding and pay the least are Red States. Eight of the ten that receive the least and pay the most are Blue States. The state with the lowest divorce rate is Massachusetts, the first State to legalize gay marriage. Nine out of the ten lowest divorce rates are Blue States. Ten out of Ten of the highest divorce rate States are Red States. Ten out of ten of the highest rates for teen pregnancies are Red States. So much for Christian values."

Magical Purple Sock :) replied: "If I was Sarah Palin, I would not want anyone to get in my family's business"

Why was Monica Lewinski viewed as a celebrity after the Clinton sex scandal? She wrote a book, appeared on Oprah, was interviewed in many magazines, was a spokes person for Jenny Craig, became a purse designer, hosted a television show and even endorsed a cigar company. Democrats loved her yet they rip into Sarah Palin for expressing her views on abortion and for having a pregnant teen daughter. Am I the only person here who see's double standards going on here? Monica lewinsky is human yet Bristol Palin is evil for having a baby out of wedlock?

Mark E replied: "Probably because the GOP has such high moral standards! I'd bet a lot of the "moral" Repubs have quite a few skeletons in the closet!"

Lid replied: "I'm a democrat and I don't love Monica Lewinski. She became a celebrity because suddenly the whole world knew who she was. Nothing more. She is completely unrelated to Sarah Palin. What do the two have in common? For you to say this is a double standard is ridiculous. Democrats don't agree with Sarah Palin's politics."

Coffee T replied: "see ,out of wedlock kids is dime a dozen, not gonna sell anything . a mistress of the president on the other hand is a different story."

yazzy replied: "I want to be just like her!"

trickle down economics suck replied: "What Dems loved her? I never thought of her a anything but a slut who was probably a set up to get Clinton."

Fedorov's luver! replied: "No, everyone knows it's ok for Dems to be immoral and when Repubs do it oh my they are horrid! The leftist media is partially to blame."

realst1 replied: "I am sure if Palin wants to become a purse designer or spokeswoman for Jenny Craig, all she has to do is ask. Monica asked and it happened. You do know that Monica wanted to intern and to get her "presidential kneepads" because she wanted to get connections to get a cushy job. She just got one she wasn't expecting. If you want to compare Sarah Palin to a slutty, political groupie airhead opportunist, I will agree with you completely. As far as double standards, the GOP is supposedly the "moral" party," so if they don't want to be called on their toe tapping in bathrooms, preying on Congressional pages, and teenage pregnancies, they should get off their conservative, pseudo-religious soapboxes."

Joe B- Drop'anUtley replied: "Two words=Kato Kaelin. He heard a knock at his window and became famous. Another one-Never been in a hit movie, never had a platinum album, not even the best looking-may I introduce Paris Hilton. It's like that throughout the country and not just in politics."

SkyPilot replied: "There is no "double standard" here as you seem to think. You seriously need to find something better to do with your time than to excess over things that are not important. I honestly don't know what makes you think people (especially dems) loved Monica."

Mar replied: "Things that happen to Democrats are never made into anything bad but if it's a Republican the media and Democrats make it sound like it's the end of the world and so evil."

purple rules replied: "the media makes a celebrity out of anyone that has done anything the least bit unethical. they reward bad behavior with free coverage and then they do stories about why are they behaving so badly. i mean lets face it they made p hilton a celebrity. if a person is living a decent life they just don't talk about them.palin is living in her own head. check out her turkey blunder on msn, it proves my point."

garden girl replied: "Bristol Palin is not evil for having a baby out of wedlock. Monica Lewinsky is a celebrity because everyone knows who she is, just like Sarah Palin is a celebrity because everyone knows who she is. Monica L did not run for public office nor attest to the fact that she had the qualifications to lead the people of this country as Sarah Palin did. They are both human, Sarah Palin is simply much for dangerous. She is intellectually lazy, a lier, ambichous (sp?) to the point of selling out anyone who gets in her way, could care less for the welfare of the American people above her own welfare, and if you do not agree with her point of view, you simply don't count. She did not "just express her views on abortion", she did a lot more damage than that."

Mary Alice_1979 replied: "that's not true, Lewinsky didn't have any kids. It's not a double standard. Bristol Palin was pregnant by another teenager, also Lewinsky was made fun of for ages. Bristol wasn't even tormented."

Track and Bristol were far from the angels Sarah portrays them to be. Is Sarah herself genuine? The magazine that broke the Jon Edwards affair is out with their first scoop on the Palins: Who knew their kids were even wilder than bush was back when he was their age? The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively that Sarah's oldest son, Track, was addicted to the power drug OxyContin for nearly the past two years, snorting it, eating it, smoking it and even injecting it. And as Track, 19, heads to Iraq as part of the U.S. armed forces, Sarah and her husband Todd were powerless to stop his wild antics, detailed in the new issue of The ENQUIRER, which goes on sale today. THE ENQUIRER also has exclusive details about Track's use of other drugs, including cocaine, and his involvement in a notorious local vandalism incident.

netjr replied: "Its funny to watch the Inquirer take their outing of Edwards for a little spin. Sadly that which they gained in respect over Edwards is about to be lost on Palin."

Marilyn R replied: "I guess beyond sex, drugs and hockey, there is not much to do in Alaska. I hate to admit it, the Enquirer is usually right on about most things and if they say that the Palin kids are wild, then I believe it and I question even more the so-called values that those children were raised with."

sweetassugarbajbe replied: "republicans are not going to answer your questions because they don't want to deal with real issues...but you will hear "obama is osama""

relevant inquiry replied: "OxyContin? Isn't that the same drug that Rush Limbaugh abused? Figures."

Emerilesque replied: "everyone in Alaska smokes weed. Everyone. Even Bill Clinton when he visits. Looks like the Palin family is a great result of small town family values. Now, does pointing out their shortcomings only make palin stronger?"

Donna L replied: "the Enquirer will tell you a 100 year old women gave birth to alien twins, you believe that too. Most parents wish that their children made better choices. Most of us still love and support them and hope that they learn from any mistakes that they do make. Do you have children? Are they perfect? Will you love them less if they make mistakes. It is so easy to point out other peoples childrens faults lot of people live in glass houses."

Jane G replied: "I usually don't go to the Enquirer for my news but it seems they are becoming more credible due to main stream media not being able to report negatives about the Dems. Anyway, it is wrong to drag the children through the mud-all kids do stupid things-some really stupid things. Even Obama admitted to snorting coke in his memoirs. Clinton smoked hooch but didn't inhale (?) These are difficult times, drugs are rampant--the MTV culture drags us down with its attempts to sexualize and shock..."

satcomgrunt replied: "I hope Palin sues the enquirer for millions over libel."

vangion replied: "Unnamed sources are usually unnamed for a reason Tghis may or may not be true but jumping on anything the Enquirer reports is desperate at beat remeber this is the same organization that claimed that Bill Clinton met with the grey aliens"

Is Sarah Palin a fraud? Levi, the dude who impregnated her daughter, said contrary to her words that she: -was taught to shoot by him -she doesn't go into the bush and live off of meat -didn't go to her son's hockey games -and that "The Palin house was much different from what many people expect of a normal family, even before she was nominated for vice president. There wasn't much parenting in that house. Sarah doesn't cook, Todd doesn't cook the kids would do it all themselves," Now I know her defenders will chime in with "liberal magazine smear job" and that Levi has an axe to grind. But where there's smoke, there's fire. Obviously, there's a lot of truth here. When you consider these things along with obvious intellectual limitations, she is put in an even worse light.

Schlafenszeit fur Shrubya replied: "anyone with a half a brain knows exactly what she is - a rabble-rouser and political opportunist I betcha she's writing her memoirs in crayon. In fact, that's probably going to be the title "You Betcha" with a snarky Palin wink on the cover."

fangtaiyang replied: "No, she's not a fraud, but she is really as stupid as she sounds."

whimsy replied: "No more than any other politician"

Oh, fur Christ's sake replied: "Where there's smoke there's people that inhaled to much, like you, fur Christ's sake."

Scott replied: "Yes"

Beans F replied: "they sound cool thanks for sharing"

DC Maximus replied: "You sure are scared of her! HA! You get an attaboy for that. Keep it up. Son, you hve to recognize Levi for what he is - a sad, sad, sorry little man who is trying to make as much money as possible off his 15 minutes of fame. Don't put much stock in what that youngster says. He just wants some money for the interview. And it should go to child support for his son."

TeddyDiedAmericansHipHipHurray replied: "Levi is a dork taking money from sleaze reporters."

Little Red Hen replied: "When Levi started spouting off to get more than his 15 minutes, I stopped taking him seriously."

Lisa replied: "Next President of the United States of America."

gimpyshake replied: "I don't think she is a fraud. I think she is a authentic and legitimate moron."

randall flag replied: "your story is laughable..she grew up as the daughter of a science teacher in Alaska they hunted as a way to survive ..look it up ..the truth is out there.. if you think tina Fey's impersonation was based in any way on facts you are mistaken..she understands evolution..dad was a science teacher remember that fact"

Triforce Warrior replied: "Yes along with most other politicians"

Fred W replied: "At least she didn't raise her family in a racist hate church for twenty years."

Cubby replied: "isn't obama a fraud. he lied the whole way down the campaign trail and now his policy and positions change on a weekly basis."

Captain Parker replied: "Oh, a poser politician? That's something new."

Matt replied: "You're right. Obama never lied about anything. Just listen to anything he says and research it."

donk35 replied: "You are trying to convince us that we should rely on an admitted rapist? A person that has sex with a child is a rapist and a pedophile. You keep good company, be sure to register as a sex offender."

Less Work More Pay, Work Union replied: "No but our pres. is a racist radical"

mbush40 replied: "Wow, how many other people on facebook do you hate? Levi needs his buttocks handed to him. He and I in the Octagon...Pay-per-view. I always love it how you accept the word of an 18yo punk kid that you wouldn't even know had he not been dating the daughter of a former Governor as the truth."

freedomwks replied: "You are waaaay too willing to believe anything and everything said against Sarah Palin. Just keep drinking the kool-aid."

dubious replied: "Yes, by all means. Let's take the word of a disgruntled teenage father...because we all know how responsible they are, right?"

PARKERD replied: "No, She is a quitter. Period."

The Pen is Mightier replied: "Nope. Obama is the fraud."

60 min man replied: "so can we apply the same thing to obama, whereas you have ayers, a terrorist, what about the smoke and fire from those two? or the story where michelle obama got a nice 100k raise? who cares, every one of the poiticians are frauds but as far as palin goes, there are facts to deal with."

T D replied: "shes no different than other politicians.....she wants to serve herself."

RU486 replied: "She's a fraud. That much is true, but we have all known that for a long time."

AE Newman replied: "Levi's had his way with one Palin and has another one bent over the sofa. Go for it, bud!"

drkangel210e replied: "So, did Michelle Obama or Barack have time to cook while he was on the campaign trail? What about when Michelle was out there using her law degree and he was holding various public offices? Maybe she goes to as many hockey games as she can considering her schedule? I doubt he taught her how to shoot. That sounds like him being petty to me. Most people who hunt dont' "go into the bush and live off meat". They hunt a couple of times a year."

Sarah Palin Scandals? I read an article in US Magazine (not the most reliable, i know) about Palin, but the facts surrounding her potential scandal with the whole "covered up her daughters birth by saying it's her baby" was facsinating. Does anyone have any knowledge on what this all could be? Do you believe it? It hasn't changed my good opinion of her, but it's still so interesting... tell me your opinion!

Metroguy replied: "Obama scandals...Oh sorry, we don't have that kind of time"

to whom it may concern replied: "choosing between two evils, between biden and palin, I would choose palin. so it doesn't matter if that rumor is true or not."

katiegrace replied: "its bull. us magizine is crap"

True Patriot (Obama 08) replied: "Well, Repubbies will lie, lie, and lie until they turn blue. So, I doubt that this story will come to the light."

Paige replied: "For what I hope is the LAST time, given Bristol's current pregnancy, it is physically IMPOSSIBLE for her to be Trig's mother."

Wooglet Voot replied: "I think that report is probably not true."

iviolated3 replied: "REZKO CountryWide Reverend Wright"

ms. DownBrown replied: "I don't believe that at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

mayberry_lady1 replied: "All that has been debunked. Trig is her child. Old rumor from a rag magazine. You'd get more discussion on Palin's sandals than you would on bogus scandals."

PIT BULL NO LIPSTICK replied: "She never wears SANDALS in the winter time in Alaska, too cold."

Gentle Giant replied: "The US story is pure fabrication., If you do the math you'll discover that The daughter would have become pregnant with the child she is now carrying about a month before she gave birth to the one which is actually Palin's. That's a neat trick if she could do it. Maybe things work differently in Alaska or maybe the people who run and write for US are brain dead. ( or dishonest)"

Mike N replied: "Everyone! Read Paige's response. (Also the response of: Gentle Giant) Facts Don't Lie; Republicans do!!"

Moonchild replied: "I find her views on abortion -when the person seeking the abortion has been raped and/or the victim of incest- to be rather scandalous, and totally lacking in imagination. I don't much like her book-banning proclivities, either. And I detest her views on the so-called sport of aerial wolf gunning. As far as the so-called family scandals, I don't give a rat's a** about that. Only idiots pay attention to that kind of junk anyway."

mr.obviouslee replied: "US magazine is pregnant with jealousy over the positive impact Palin had in energizing the republican party."

vtjames7433 replied: "the fact that you mentioned the daughters pregnancy being covered up is all we need to know- learn that the media follows sensationist drivel and has become tabloidist in nature and you will be all set. The "scandals" are predominently made up or exagerated for political purposes."

BFS replied: "Newsweek discussed it as well, though the evidence that they presented was interesting, but less than conclusive."

Philosopher Jay replied: "If this is true, I do not know how you can still have a good opinion of her. It means that she hypocritically hid the fact that her daughter was pregnant by lying to the world and pretending that she was pregnant. It means that she was ashamed of her unwed daughter's pregnancy and was trying to hide it from the world. It also means she lied to John McCain about it. How can you want someone who proves she is ashamed of her daughter's actions in this way and lies to everyone in the world about their own daughter in this way? Incidentally, as has been repeated many times, the announcement last month that Bristol was five months pregnant does not in any way mean that she did not give birth in April. If Sarah Palin lied about being Trig's mother, it is natural to assume she lied about the number of months that Bristol is pregnant now. In fact, the five months pregnancy announcement is further evidence of a cover-up. If they had said four months, there would have been a question of this being a new pregnancy -- women are very fertile just after giving birth -- and if they had said six months, people would have wondered why there is no sign of it. So, it seems in order to discredit the evidence of Sarah's cover-up, they had no option but to choose five months for Bristol's pregnancy. It has now been two weeks since that announcement. Does Bristol look five and a half months pregnant to anyone? Why have we not seen any pictures of her for the last week with Trig covering her?"

Does anyone else find this funny? Does anyone else find it one bit strange that all the magazines are making such a big deal about Sarah Palins daughter being pregnant, and that it was perfectally fine that Jamie Lynn was pregnant? I mean yeah I don't like the fact that she is only 17, but why is it so bad with her, and not bad at all for Jamie Lynn?

Josh replied: "Because Jamie Lynns mom is not running for VP. And they did make a big deal about it."

I Myself replied: "i dont see what is funny here? a fact is supposed to be funny, BORING!"

D3VILDOG replied: "Pwned :)"

Kevin P replied: "yea."

Bob M replied: "HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA"

Michelle replied: "That's true. And Sarah Palins didn't have a show on Nickelodeon either."

Hailey replied: "it was bad for jamie lynn thats why all over the tv and in magazines people were making fun of it."

no one u know replied: "i think it has something to do with the beliefs of sarah palin and john mcain towards abortion and pregnancy"

patd replied: "not really becuase if she cant handle her daughter how can she handle being vice president ?"

RAWR replied: "Its actually really none of there bussiness imo, but its probably to scare off people from voting."

kira_jazzzz replied: "It's just politics. They have to make it a big deal on the democratic side right now."

Mr.Lovely replied: "HAHAHAHAHAHA SO~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~funny -_-"

Slim24/7 replied: "Yeah the media can get a little crazy sometimes...i mean always"

Tila M replied: "People are crazy, politics are lies. No one should care, Palin is vice, not president... Who cares Its her daughter!!! Obviously her daughter doesnt matter in polotics right now. Yes it is! C="

Emily replied: "nope no funnyness detected"

Benjamin G replied: "Jamie lynn comes from a long line of trashy...people maybe sarah palins daughter isnt normaly like that?"

coolcalin812 replied: "because Jamie Lynn's sister is knowned to be a crazy bastard, so it passes down to briney's sister... now Sarach Palin is running for VP, thats a totally diff story... If you get a chance check out this site, its about doing surveys, earing points than you can exchange for stuff. such as itune gift cards and stuff, give real info, but while doing the surveys give them fake info."

T replied: "They made a big deal out of Jamie Lynn as well, but since she has already had her baby and she is out of the spotlight now, the focus is off her, and on Sarah Palin's daughter."

RadicalReanne L replied: "Because I guess Jamie Lynn was looked up to by so many girls and if you ask me it was pretty obvious that something like this would happen because after all she is brittneys sister!"

sarah. replied: "They did make a big deal about Jamie Lynn. And Jamie Lynn's mother isn't running for Vice President, thank god."

2loveless2 replied: "Yeah, I guess."

Dave87gn replied: "Because Jamie lyn is white trash, and no one is surprised, but republican hold themselve up as the moral high ground"

hotgirl123152 replied: "because jamie mom isnt running for VP its okay for jamie because she just an actor and her mom isnt that big"

Jack Burton replied: "jamie lynn's mommy isnt running for vice president. doesn't exactly paint a picture of responsibility does it?"

Dani B replied: "celebrities are getting knocked up left and right. and i agree with the other person.. jamies mother isnt running for VP"

AS replied: "erm, Sarah Palin is running for Vice president i.e she could potentially be running the American nation! (very likely with Mccain's age if the Republicans get into power) and she is very anti abortion and even wants her daughter to marry the kid! now how is that meant to be a good 'role model' for the nation? 17 yr olds getting pregnant and married? how is she meant to run the nation when she can't run her family properly not nearly the same league as Jamie Lynn! if u don't get that, dear god!"

eltiburon_chris replied: "I completely understand. but they did say some stuff about jamie lynn (obvious they would) the people who are making a big deal out of this is the democrats because they are running against them so they are using whatever they can to make the other party seem bad. It might seem stupid which it is but some people listen to that and that why they do that"

Clover Shay replied: "There was a big deal about jamie also people are trying to get the ppoint across that how can Palin run a country if she can't control her daughter's life"

Maggie replied: "A) people did make a big deal about it in its time. its old news now, so no ones talking about it. B)sarah palin's daughter is expected to have been raised better than that. i hate to say it, but people werent really shocked when j.l. got preggers cuz of britneys bad behavior etc. C)j.l.'s mom isnt running for vp...shes a notoriously bad hollywood mom, not the gov of alaska"

Brandon S replied: "It is so sad, that you have to laugh. I especially laugh at Bill O' Reilly and his news covering of both these topics. He could not say enough of how disgusted he was to find out that Jamie Lynn Spears was pregnant at 16. He kept saying things about Jamie's parents and how they are basically a disgrace to parenthood. Then when Palin was barraged by the media about her 17 year old daughter being pregnant, good ole Bill was telling people to lay off her and that he felt is was disgusting how the media attacked the Vice President Candidate. He is a hypocrite to the extremeee. DOWN WITH BILL O'REILLY!!! JON STEWART FTW!!"

Funlovin replied: "I dint know what you are reading but no one said that Spears being pregnant was OK, but nevertheless its not ok for her daughter either. I think that it is a big deal that she is pregnant, maybe if people would not act so happy go lucky. And I was a teen mom too!"

Breanna replied: "umm if you didn't notice it, it was bad for Jamie Lynn. She was on the cover of tons of magazines and it was all over tv and there's a big difference between them. Jamie is Brittany Spears' little sister and the other girl is the daughter of someone that might be running our country one day."

HouAnswerGuy replied: "Jamie Lynn's mom is not running as the "family morals" candidate...Jamie Lynn's mom will NOT be making public policies that determine how the rest of us are allowed to live our lives....seems to me if you talk the talk you should be walking the walk...at least when it comes to morality...and not making excuses for personal failures...That goes for both sets of candidates."

Alejandro B replied: "Well, I must say that I don't really understand it either, but my theory is that it's an ethics thing. I mean, Jamie Lynn's mom already raised a problem child, so we don't have such high expectations. Sarah Palin, however, could be our VP, so there are a certain amount of ethics that we might expect from our leaders, and one of them might be how we raise our children. Something else to add are the Bush twins. Any old teenager can drink and get drunk, but they aren't even usually sent to jail (at least where I'm from). But when the Bush twins drank, it was all over the front page and people questioned Bush's leadership because of that. My advice: find another reason to hate Sarah Palin (or George Bush) if you want but don't go blaming it on their children."

puck replied: "It was bad that Jaimie Lynn got knocked up at 16. Why are you basing your morals on what magazines say? Did you think it was wrong when Jamie got preggo? I just think people are making it a big deal because Replublicans have a reputation as Holy Rollers and this contradicts what they are about. It makes it sound like Sarah Palin's family is running around like liberals and the media is feeding off of it. I love it. Mcain is a joke and so is his running mate......so is this country and that's why we will vote for him. Sad. The USA always is so pro politics though the election year. Than we bitch for 4 years about the person WE put in charge. Let's at least bitch about Obama....take the lesser of the 2 evils. Mccain is 72...our average lifespan is 75 years. This would make Palin our president. I don't think she has ANY experience to be a President."

Headtater replied: "It's called hypocrisy, get used to it. The thing about it (not defending Palin) is that Pailin's daughter and the guy that knocked her up are being responsible and getting hitched. This is an issue, but not nearly as important as it is being made."

fouette replied: "uhm probably because sarah palin's daughter got pregnant and sarah palin voted against Sex Education in Alaska. She supported the use of abstinence in school, instead of sex education. then her daughter gets pregnant. jamie lynn spears is an overrated disney channel celeb...we all saw it coming, and couln't really expect any less.."

The Wardog Group replied: "Hypocrisy,Hypocrisy,Hypocrisy what can you do when it pop's it's ugly head up.I guess we just laugh and move on:)"
